I always thought Edward Curtis was an inspiring photographer. My Grandpa introduced me to him a few years ago and I was intrigued by the fact that he basically dedicated his entire life to photographing the native american culture before it vanished. I think it gives us a que to capture the good qualities of our modern culture before they change or disappear. I think sometimes artists can get really caught up in making something look old or futuristic which is great but we need art that represents its own time period as well.
